Michelle’s path of practice was graced by a profound and unmistakable guidance. In a vivid dream, she beheld the majestic and compassionate visage of H.H. Pema Lodro Rinpoche/Kampu(白玛洛珠法王仁波切/堪布). In the dream, he urged her to seek the Dharma without delay.
Taking this as a direct and profound summons, Michelle resolved to embark on a pilgrimage to Tibet. Her determination was absolute: to gather the necessary offerings for this supreme quest, she parted with her personal treasures, transforming what was precious in the worldly sense into support for her spiritual journey. Her goal was to receive the Dzogchen (Great Perfection) teachings—the pinnacle of Buddhist practice aimed at realizing the innate, luminous nature of mind.
This journey was far more than an external search for knowledge; it was an inward pilgrimage of confirmation. The teachings received allowed all the wisdom she had studied to coalesce into a living, embodied experience through genuine practice. It was during this time that Pema Lodrö Rinpoche, who tirelessly taught students to cherish all sentient beings as one’s own mother and to diligently perfect their practice to repay this boundless kindness, entered parinirvana the following year. This made the transmission she received even more sacred and pivotal.
This journey culminated in a profound personal vow: to integrate the realized wisdom into her very being and to share its essence for the benefit of others. This intention became the seed that would later blossom into the creation of Mahamani.
