The True Path to Abundance
We all crave wealth, but true abundance is never accidental. It comes from the karma and merit we have accumulated across lifetimes.
Those who are wealthy in this life are not just lucky—they have practiced generosity and built good karma for many lifetimes. We often think, "I will help others once I am rich," but the truth is: the more you give, the more you receive. True giving starts when you are still not wealthy.
A billionaire with a $100 billion fortune who donates $100 million gives only 0.1% of their wealth—a drop in the ocean. But in some of the world's poorest regions, where people may earn only $200 a month, someone who gives $20 to help others contributes 10% of their monthly income. This kind of intention carries far greater spiritual weight. Generosity is not measured by how much you give, but by the purity of your heart. Even a small offering, given with sincerity, plants powerful seeds of merit.
Wealth is simply the manifestation of your merit. In Classical Chinese Imperial Astrology, wealth is reflected in several key palaces: the Wealth Palace (primary income), Career Palace (career and status), Fortune Palace (blessings and merit), Health Palace (speculative and investment wealth), Property Palace (ancestral wealth and properties), and Migration Palace (blessings and opportunities from afar). All of these palaces reveal the karma accumulated from your past lives.
The magnitude of one's wealth is closely tied to the breadth of their heart and vision. Those who are truly wealthy often possess a broad, open-minded perspective—they do not fixate on temporary gains or losses, and they treat others with kindness and tolerance. Therefore, in our daily lives, we should avoid petty calculations and strive to expand our heart's capacity, facing people and things with a more inclusive mindset. The greater your heart, the deeper the blessings and wealth you can hold.
Many people believe in the Law of Attraction, thinking, "What you wish for will come." But Buddhism teaches: you reap what you sow. Without the seeds of good karma, even the strongest wish cannot manifest. The Law of Attraction is not wrong—it is incomplete.
When wealth, fame, and status arrive, remember: with great influence comes great responsibility. Public figures, leaders, and celebrities impact millions. Their good deeds spread widely; their mistakes also spread widely. They must manage their desires and set a positive example for the world.
At the root of all true prosperity is one word: Giving. Not occasional donations, but consistent, heartfelt acts of kindness.
John D. Rockefeller was one of the wealthiest people in American history. Yet even when his income was modest from a young age, he consistently donated 10% of his salary to church and those in need. Later in life, he gave away over 90% of his fortune to establish the Rockefeller Foundation, supporting global healthcare, education, and humanitarian causes. He once said: "I believe that the power to earn money is a gift from God, to be used for the good of others." This lifelong generosity not only earned him eternal respect but also sustained his family's wealth and influence for generations.
It is the perfect example that the more you give, the more you receive.
